Ohio Mini-tour Day 2 - Sidney to Findlay

It was a big day today! We did 72 miles in the hot, hot heat, with Max being determined and enthusiastic. It was all flat, with a little tailwind, and some clouds formed in the afternoon to make the heat bearable.

We are beyond the bike trail network today. It was all quiet back roads through nice towns and small cities. Not so much for services between towns, but you can always take a break and sit in some shade at the John Deere dealer.

The key to finishing strong is definitely an afternoon ice cream break. Eating a good breakfast also helps.

We struck out with the Motel 6 in Findlay, which has a sports bar across the parking lot. But that was OK, there was a Super 8 a couple blocks away, for just $10 more ($70 instead of $60), which had a seafood restaurant next door, with electrolyte replenishment therapy (margaritas), which were very cheap due to happy hour. Seafood restaurant in Ohio means walleye! This was a big win!

We are now turning around and heading south to get back to Mandy's. The weather forecast for this evening and tomorrow is ominous, due to the remnants of Hurricane Barry passing through. We have a cushion day if we need it. And rain gear.

Here is the Strava track.
