Today is my birthday. I went on a nice bike ride, ate Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Cake my sisters bought me, and went to a Cubs game.
When we were all little, we all belonged to the Baskin-Robbins Birthday Club, which meant you got a free ice cream cone on your birthday. Kate and Mandy thought my birthday was a great excuse to go get an ice cream cake.
It's mint chocolate chip ice cream as it should be.
My morning bike ride started with a nice trail through wetlands.
Then I went west to the land of office parks and no bike shoulders, then south past so many golf courses, then east through Skokie, where there are many, many Mid-century Mondern buildings.
This is on the Northwestern University campus.
I met up with my sisters for lunch at Kate's shop in Winnetka.
She has a lot of cool stuff in there.
Here's Kate with the flowers she just bought at the wholesale florist.
Her shop is two blocks from the "Home Alone" house. I told her I rode by the "Home Alone" house and took a picture.
Kate: "You are such a tourist."
me: "Well, my picture includes a tourist taking a picture."

Then we went to the Cubs game. The Cubs got clobbered by the Royals 12-4. They for some reason decided to rest their starting pitchers and use only relievers. This was not a good plan, and it went so badly they had a position player pitch the 9th inning.
I got an Old Style and an Italian Beef.
Mandy did what the song says.
I had a very fun visit.
